Valentina Lisitsa
Twenty-eight year old Russian born pianist, Valentina Lisitsa is capturing the attention of audiences throughout the world for her stunning virtuosity and unequaled sense of lyricism in a formidable repertoire including many important romantic master- pieces. Widely known and respected as a duo-pianist with her husband, Alexei Kuznetsoff, Ms. Lisitsa brings to the concert stage rare technical mastery combined with deep musical understanding. Ms. Lisitsa first appeared on stage at the age of four and completed her studies at the famed Kiev Conservatory. Since making her debut in New York City, Valentina Lisitsa has regularly received critical praise for her performances including her debut performance of Rachmaninoff's Second Concerto with the Florida Philharmonic which prompted the Miami Herald critic, James Roos to report, "Lisitsa, in fact, projected the full sweep of the score and its power of inundating impact. Her performance was so emotionally sincere and authentic it eventually should be recorded." In the 1995/96 season, Valentina Lisitsa appeared with the Mostly Mozart Festival under Gerard Schwartz at Lincoln Center. She appeared with the Dallas Symphony and joined her husband in a return to New York's Lincoln Center for a performance of Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos with the Little Orchestra Society at Alice Tully Hall. In the l996/97 season, Ms. Lisitsa joined her husband in duo performances of the Poulenc Concerto on the United States tour of the Orchestre National de France with Charles Dutoit conducting. She has appeared extensively as soloist both with orchestra and in recital. Ms. Lisitsa also continues to collaborate with her husband in duo performances. Valentina Lisitsa has made seven highly acclaimed CD recordings for the Audiofon label. |
